If you missed them, here are the things I’m trying to do before I turn 30.
A couple of them have hit some rough patches - as my life in general seems to have lately - but I am trying to stay positive, today especially.
So, how much better than to update that I’ve already reached one goal and have others that are super-close??
The goal I’ve met already:
2. Balance owed under $3K on Discover card.
As of today, it’s at $2,989.01. YEAH. Now, that doesn’t take into account a setback we had on another goal.
6. No other revolving debt - 401(k) loans paid off, American General/Springleaf loan paid off, Tires Plus card balance at zero.
See, we just charged another $1000 on the Tires Plus card to pass inspection. That was a whole thing, but the bottom line is, we’ll still reach Goal 6. It just means the accomplish of Goal 2 pales slightly.
Another good update: I’m only about 2 months away from reaching …
9. Brown belt in tae kwon do.
I just tested last weekend for the brown stripe on my purple belt, which means in another two months, if I’m ready, I can test for brown. That would put me a full year ahead of doing it by the time I turn 30.
(One last setback-to-positivity note; I had fallen behind on 13. Have done at least 6 cycles of 29 days of giving. So, I restarted that this week and today was Day 6 of Cycle 2. Not horrible!)
The question this brings up is, should I change the goals if I’ve reached them already? Or should I keep them as-is and just focus on trying to meet ALL of them, including the 13 I left room for but haven’t set yet?
